Electrolux is proud to announce that its new UltimateTaste microwave oven range has won a prestigious iF Design Award 2023.
This award is a recognition of the Electrolux design philosophy called ‘Human Touch’, an ode to human-centric Swedish design, and the heart of everything they do. Select microwave ovens in the UltimateTaste range elevate microwave cooking to a new level of intuitive usage and functional simplicity. This embodies the Human Touch philosophy through redesigned interfaces using familiar cooking results that are quick to understand, from precise CrispyReheat and cooking, to thoroughly even defrosting and air frying.
With this new interface on UltimateTaste microwave ovens, Electrolux has shifted from a function-based interactive flow to a task-based interactive flow. This means that, instead of technical product features or numbers, you see the cooking methods, such as reheating, cooking, and defrosting, and simply select your preferred type of cooking. The microwave oven then automatically provides the optimal power and time setting, to deliver the best taste results possible from microwave cooking.
Navigating the control panel is seamless and uncomplicated with new intuitive controls, with clear visuals, feedback, and guidance. Hand movement is also reduced through a knob with clickable buttons, and placed close to it is the display for a quick settings overview. Icons in UltimateTaste microwave ovens are localised through images of food or cooking methods, taking the guesswork out of which buttons to press. There is no need to select numbers for the power levels with 32 presets providing shortcuts to help and guide the user towards their desired results with ease. Inspired by the evolution of modern kitchen design, the range effortlessly complements and enhances every home via clever use of Scandinavian-inspired colours, accents, and forms.
